potvrzení o absolvování zkoušky z AJ na ESF, motivační dopis

How far ahead did you have to organise your acceptance?:
škola začala na konci srpna, v průběhu dubna jsme si každý individuálně vyřídil přihlášku na UVic, vybral předměty a začal sám vykomunikávat s UVic

předběžný rozvrh jsme věděli, ale stejně nám ho na místě ještě změnili

registrace proběhla online spolu s přihláškou na UVic, změny bylo možné provést ještě cca měsíc po začátku školy

1,5 kreditu je 6 ECTS

Describe the teaching methods (theory, practical and projects) and assessment of students:
mnohem víc práce během semestru než na ESF, hodně skupinové práce, hodně prezentací, hodně průběžných seminárek i průběžných testů

Quality of teaching in comparison with home school:
časově náročnější studium než u nás, ale náročnost jako taková přibližně jako ESF

How did you receive study materials?:
koupě (dá se koupit na univerzitě, jedna učebnice vždy okolo 100 CAD)

Can you recommend an interesting course/subject/teacher?:
Business and Sustainability

How well is the school library equipped?:
skvěle, na kampusu je všechno

Availability of computers, internet access, level of software needed, requirements on notebook:
velice dobrá

uvítání, během semestru i závěrečná akce (ta byla placená, 30 CAD)

cena ubytování je tam opravdu vysoká, platila jsem 750 CAD měsíčně, plus záloha 300 CAD

Describe the equipment. Tips for future students – what should they bring with them?:
moje bylo vybavené, koleje tuším nejsou (ostatní si museli nakupovat vybavení, včetně peřin, polštářů atd). na kolejích není kuchyňka, to je hlavní nevýhoda, jenom konvice a mikrovlnka

How and how far ahead should accommodation be organised?:
2-3 měsíce dopředu

What are the catering options?:
školná bufet i jídelna, ale vyjde draho, vařila jsem si

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
cca 3x vyšší ceny než u nás, v Kanadě je opravdu draho, hlavně ve Victorii

hodně dopředu

bus (cca 5000 Kč na čtyři měsíce), hodně lidí mělo kolo

povinné od UVic, vyšlo na cca 5500 Kč

13k celkem (pojištění, doprava po Victorii, další poplatky škole za akce atd), 14k měsíčně ubytování, v průměru 6k za jídlo měsíčně (vařila jsem si, tím jsem ušetřila), nákup učebnic okolo 2k (záleží na předmětech), nákupy na vybavení na podnájem a další věci jsou naprosto individuální. Obecně říct, že je to tam opravdu dost drahé, kdybych neměla dost našetřeno, tak to finančně nezvládnu, ale stálo to za to

změna podnájmu (špína, plíseň...), řešení vypovězení nájemní smlouvy ihned, řešení s UVic, nakonec vše dobře dopadlo

What would you recommend to take with you:
i když se dá téměř všude platit kartou, tak studijní věci ne (třeba vložení peněz na UVic Student card, placení akcí atd), i tak je na kampusu ATM
