What was your approach in organising the placement?:
Kontaktoval jsem vedoucího výzkumné skupiny a postdocka, který u něho pracuje, že mně zajímá jeho výzkum a chtěl bych k němu na stáž. Po ccca 2 týdnech se mi ozvali, že bych chtěli udělat skype pohovor.

Describe your work/activity in the foreign organisation. Describe what specifically you did, whether the work corresponded to the agreed conditions and your field of study, and whether your work was independent and responsible, approximate working hours.:
Pracovní doba byla většinou od 9 do 18-19:00. Pracovní náplň odpovídala tomu, co jsem měl domluveno a bylo i podepsáno v Training Agreement. Můj výzkum byl zaměřený na detekci sialové kyseliny v nádorech prsu. Pracoval jsem se dvěma buněčnými liniemi (EMT6, 4T1). Na liniích jsem dělal testy cytotoxicity. Buňky jsem také používal na orthotopické indukce nádorů do myší, na kterých byly následně treatovány novou nádorovou terapií. Dále jsem se také věnoval fluorescenčnímu barvení různých tkání, click reakcím atd.

Bylo v tom zahrnuto vše (energie, internet).

Domlouval jsem si sám přes známé.

to co člověk považuje sobě za důležité. Já si přivezl třeba polštář :D

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
Levné. Útratu jsem nějak nepočítal. Na obědy jsme chodili na institutu, takže jsem kupoval jen něco málo na snídani a večeři.

Tips for purchasing cheap tickets and other recommendations:
ČD mají možnost koupit si 10x jízdenku Brno-Vídeň za 1700 Kč. Kdybych to věděl dříve, určitě bych využil.

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
Nevím. MHD jsem prakticky nepoužíval. Denní lístek po Vídni ale stojí, myslím, 5 euro. Po městě jsem se celou dobu pohyboval na kole.

Tips for recreation:
Okolí Vídně je krásne na kratší "hiky", třeba Kahlenberg. Ale město je samo o sobě hezké na procházky.

Přišlo mi v Rakousku dost levno, vzhledem k tomu, o kolik vyšší mají průměrnou mzdu.

Doporučuji používat multiměnový účet , př. Revolut, Transferwise, atd.

Rozhodně. Tato stáž byla asi nejvíce přínosná věc za celou dobu studia na MU.

Nové kontakty a znalosti, které jsem nabyl.

Do you have any recommendation for those that follow you? (e.g. what to take with them):
Velkou dávku vytrvalosti. Byl jsem překvapený, jak náročná tato stáž byla, hlavně množství času stráveným v laboratoři.
