Where can information be found about courses taught at the foreign school?:
Byl jsem především pracovat na dizertační práci a docházel na konzultace či doporučené přednášky. Obecně katalogy jsem proto nehledal/nepotřeboval.

Which documents were needed for acceptance at the foreign university?:
Standardní proces Freemovers.

How far ahead did you have to organise your acceptance?:
Stáž jsem začal řešit přibližně 4-5 měsíců dopředu.
Komunikace v letních měsících se zahraniční univerzitou byla ale zdlouhavá, doporučuji vyřešit vše mimo letní měsíce.

During your stay did you change your Learning Agreement?:
Ne. Stáž jsem mírně prodlužoval, ale ani jedna strana nepožadovala změnu LA. Změna je vedena v rámci Confirmation of Studies.

Nevím, nemohu říct.

Ne

Describe the teaching methods (theory, practical and projects) and assessment of students:
Studoval jsem formou individuálních konzultací, diskuzí s vyučujícími a studenty, tvorba prezentací a vlastní přednášky.

Quality of teaching in comparison with home school:
Vzhledem k délce studia je to těžko porovnatelné.

How did you receive study materials?:
Přes email nebo osobně.

Can you recommend an interesting course/subject/teacher?:
Doporučuji individuální domluvu podle studované specializace geografie.

How well is the school library equipped?:
Knihovna je vybavená, nicméně výrazně převažují tituly v ukrajinštině.

Availability of computers, internet access, level of software needed, requirements on notebook:
Pracoval jsem na vlastním notebooku. Na univerzitě byl Eduroam.

Options from printing and copying:
Pokud jsem potřeboval, nebyl problém - na požádání.

Does the foreign school/student organisation arrange special events for exchange students?:

Studenti i vyučující, se kterými jsem se potkával, ke mně byli milí a přívětiví. Byl jsem aktivně zván do diskuze a byl mi věnován čas/pozornost.

Additional comments to the price of accommodation (as to what the price includes):
Snažil jsem se získat ubytování na kolejích, nebylo to ale možné. Univerzita na moje opakované emailové dotazy téměř nereagovala, tudíž AirBnB.

Describe the equipment. Tips for future students – what should they bring with them?:
Doporučuji si zařídit VPN kvůli bezpečnému připojení na internet.
Téměř jsem nepotřeboval hotovost, téměř všude lze platit kartou.

How and how far ahead should accommodation be organised?:
Pokud jde o koleje, doporučuji delší dobu (i v řádu měsíců), proces může být dlouhý. AirBnB jako všude jinde na světě.

What are the catering options?:
Pro nízkou kvalitu jídel mi nebylo doporučeno se stravovat v menze. Ve městě se však lze stravovat v nepřeberném množství restaurací, jídelen, bister, např. řetězec Пузата хата.

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
Spíše o něco nižší, ale ne o moc (vzhledem k průměru ČR). Např. káva je levnější, naopak sýry dražší.

Transport to location of placement:
Letecky.

Lze použít i vlak či autobus, ale čistý čas cesty pak vychází cca na 24 h.

Rough prices for transportation:
Záleží na dni, předstihu atd. Lze v některých případech sehnat letenku i okolo 1000 Kč, ale spíše je nutné předpokládat cenu okolo 2500 Kč či i více (s kufrem).

Tips for purchasing cheap tickets and other recommendations:
Nemám.

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
Kyjev je silně provázán hromadnou dopravou, nejméně komplikované pro cizince je metro. Denní doprava cca do 50 Kč. Pěšky lze městem chodit bez problému, nicméně město je poměrně rozlehlé.

What kind of formalities have to be arranged before arrival, for example residence permit?:
Pouze kvůli Covid-19 - předložit u vstupu do země očkovací certifikát (případně izolace, aplikace atd.), pojištění.

What health insurance did you use? (rough price, advantages, disadvantages, is it necessary to arrange insurance at the university other than your home (Czech) insurance?):
Využil jsem pojištění od Allianz. V době návštěvy bylo podmínkou mít pojištění, které kryje náklady na Covid-19 a zároveň má pojišťovna zastoupení na Ukrajině. Našel jsem pouze 2 pojišťovny v ČR, co to splňují/garantují - Allianz a AXA. Lze zvážit pojištění i od ukrajinských institucí.

Tips for free-time activities:
V samotném Kyjevě je obrovské množství turistických cílů. Osobně doporučuji Сад гамаків.

Poměrně nákladné je pojištění a doprava do destinace.
V případě potřeby je nutné myslet na covid testy.

Doporučuji si zařídit mobilní data (předplatit), nebo si koupit hned po příjezdu zahraniční SIM. Běžná data jsou extrémně drahá.

What most surprised you at the partner university in a positive way:
Především přátelský a otevřený přístup. Snaha aktivně mě zapojit mezi ostatní studenty.

What most surprised you at the partner university in a negative way:
Turecké záchody.
