Activities before my departure abroad
What was your approach in organising the placement?:
Na stránkach MZV som si našla kontakt na slovenskú ambasádu v Mexiku, kde som napísala mail. Na základe môjho záujmu a životopisu som musela prejsť výberovým konaním a vypracovať dva dokumenty v anglickom a španielskom jazyku. Na základe vypracovaných dokumentov som bola prijatá, odoslala som potrebné dokumenty a začala si zháňať letenky a ubytovanie.

Životopis, motivačný list, splnenie výberového konania, certifikát o znalosti jazyka na úrovni B2, potvrdenie o zriadení poistenia, odporúčací list od vyučujúceho, súhlas so spracovaním osobných údajov, osobný dotazník, potvrdenie o dennom štúdiu.

How far ahead did acceptance have to be organised? (in weeks):
Ja som to riešila 8 týždňov dopredu, ale odporúčam apoň 12

Okrem ubytovania nie je potrebné zariadiť nič. Ja som si kúpila len SIM katu

Describe your work/activity in the foreign organisation. Describe what specifically you did, whether the work corresponded to the agreed conditions and your field of study, and whether your work was independent and responsible, approximate working hours.:
Na ambasáde som pripravovala rôzne dokumenty, písala TIC správy, denné flesh správy, pravideľne som písala vlastné práce a články, ktoré boli posielané do ústredia MiZV. Pracovala som na veciach, o ktorých som bola vopred informovaná. Práca bola v súlade s mojim odborom štúdia, v ktorom ma posunula vpred a ukázala diplomatickú prax. Pracovala som 7 hodín denne, často aj samostatne cez víkendy a podobne.

Where did you live?:
Bývala som v byte, 40 minút od slovenskej ambasády. Bývanie som si vybavovala sama cez Airbnb.

Ubytovanie som si vyberala sama, dva mesiace pred príchodom.

Záleží od toho, aka bývanie si vyberiete.

Približne rovnaké ako v ČR/SR

Ceny są celoročne pohybujú rovnako ak sa musíte viazať na konkrétne dátumy

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
Ja som sa dopravovala peši a pomocou Ubera. Ostatné formy dopravy sú veľmi nebezpečné a nedoporučujú sa. Čo sa týka Ubera, ceny sú veľmi nízke v porovaní s inými krajinami (Uber do vzdialenosti 15 km okolo 4 eurá, po meste do cca 5km kľudne aj 3 eurá a menej).

Union komplexné poistnenie

Did you have other insurance? Which?:
Mala som komplexné poistenie, ktoré zahŕňalo všetky možné udalosti, poistenie batožiny a pod.

Tips for recreation:
V Mexiku je mnoho krásnych miest, odporúčam pozrieť všetky pamiatky v meste. Ja som takmer všetky významné pamiatky za dva mesiace bez problémov stihla.

Ja používam internetovú banku Revolut, ktorá je vhodná práve na zahraničné cesty. S touto bankou tam nebol žiaden problém.

Nemala som žiadne výhody od hostiteľskej organizácie

Nie je. Len bežné veci ako nákup, SIM karta a pod.

Zobrať si určite starý nefunkčný telefón, starú nefunkčnú kartu (kvôli bezpečnosti a prípadnej krádeži), adaptér do zástrčky a nevyzývavé, nenápadné oblečenie.
