do kurzů se registruje online před zahájenim školy, změna možná do 3. týdne školy, omezením jsou prerekvizity avšak vše se dá většinou domluvit s vyučujícím

důležitá je příprava a práce během semestru, zkouška je už většinou jen formalita

Quality of teaching in comparison with home school:
us je více zaměřená na praxi, hodiny jsou většinou jen 50 minutové takže člověk ani nestihne usnout, výuka probíha v menších skupinkách a vyučující vás nejspíš bude znát a oslovovat jménem a také se bude ptát, většina profesorů v USA si nehoní ego takže na formální oslovení často můžete zapomenout a prostě profesory oslovujte jménem (jdete po kampuse a říkáte Ahoj Petře), tedy s vyučujícím navazujete bližší kontakt což vás může lehce přivést k zajímavému výzkumu který vyučující provádí, obecně si myslím, že americký způsob výuky je lepší, ale také ma slabiny ale to by bylo na delší povidání

How well is the school library equipped?:
velmi dostačující, překvapivě si amíci knihy/učebnice kupují či půjčují z Amazonu takže na vás zbyde ten jediný kus, ktery maji v knihovne
casto jsem knihovnu vyuzival jako studovnu, da se pronajmout mistnost, take se da zapujcit jakakoliv elektronika (napr laptop, cehoz jsem nevyuzil), ale take se daji pujcit veskere nabijecky cehoz vyuzival hojne

Availability of computers, internet access, level of software needed, requirements on notebook:
notebook mam vlastni, avsak da se zapujcit, internet dostupny na celem kampusu vsetne ubytovani

tisk kopirovani mozne, pokud si spravne pamatuji 1 strana 10 centu

vse zacina orientacnim tydnem, nejprve bylo par dni jen pro mezinarodni studenty, dale je cely tyden pro prvaky kde vas dle vaseho vyberu zaradi do skupiny jez cita cca 20 novych kusu a skoro cely tyden probihaji v teto male skupine ruzne aktvity zamerene na predstaveni skoly a univerzitniho zivota a vtloukani hodnot ktere univerzita vyznava (velka pozornost je prikladana toleranci, napr jako prvni vec si na UM volite sva zajmena, tedy zda chcete byt oslovovani he|she|they), vetsina studentu si zde najde kamarady z jinych oboru a i mezinarodni studenti se seznamili s mistnimi coz se ne vzdy na univerzitach povede

International Office (nazev je myslim jiny, ale snad to nehraje vekou roli) organizuje ruzne vylety, avsak studenti musi vyjadrit zajem (Yellowstone, Glacier, Hot springs, bezkovani)

jako studenti jsme obnovili Internation student club a jako studentska organizace jsme meli narok na financovani aktivit klubu, spolu s klubem Havajskych studentu jsme poradali potluck (veceri kde kazdy neco malo domaciho navari) pro mistni komunitu (cca 200 lidi) s kulturnim programem (prednasky, stand up, tanecni a pevecke vystoupeni), poradali jsme take grilovani, uvitaci party pro prijizdejici zahranicni studenty (jarni semestr), mezinarodni festival, international student fair,

pokud ma clovek chut a cas se zapojit vymyslet se dalo temer cokoliv, napriklad neni problem vymyslet snowshoeing s prespanim venku a skola vam na to jako studentskemu klubu da penize avsak musite podepsat tisic papiru a nejspis si celou akci vzit na zoodpovednost, jen 10 papiru bude na to ze skola za vas nebere zadnou odpovednost a pokud vas nekde sezere medved tak skolu nemuzete zalovat, proto jsme tyto adrenalinovejsi akce (jako treba zimni vystup na Mt Whitney) delali na vlastni pest, pujceni auta nevychazi zase tak draze (doporucuji Turo)

skola se velmi snazi behem orientacniho tydne (pozor ten probiha jen na podzim, jaro je slabsi odvar)
po 2 zkusenostech se studiem v USA mam pocit ze Evropa drzi pospolu, Asie pospolu a Amerika take

Where did you live?:
Lewis and Clark village, studentske apartmany, muzete si predstavit jako byty 2+1 ci 3+1, cca 2km od skoly, docela slusne spojeni autobusem (ten je zdarma), osobne jsem jezdil na kole

potreba nakoupit "pouze" povleceni, polstar, prikryvku (doporucuji Walmart, cenove vyjde nejlepe)

cca 4 mesicu pred odjezdem, budete k tomu vyzvani zahranicni univerzitou

What are the catering options?:
jidelna all you can eat, jelikoz jsem byl pres ISEP a ubytovan v L&C village dostavali jsme mesicne kredity (730) ktere se daly pouzit i v nekterych supermarketech, restauracich, benzinkach a dalsich obchodech, (1kredit = 1 USD)

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
zakladni potraviny malinko drazsi nez u nas jen pivo znatelne drazsi

da se letet, sam jsem volil jen primy let z Evropy do USA a potom kombinace autobus a stop

MHD zdarma, kolo se da poridit ve Free cycle take zdarma, zel pokud chcete cestovat po okoli je zapotrebi auto, stopovat se da obstojne a Missoula samotna toho nabizi dosti

What kind of formalities have to be arranged before arrival, for example residence permit?:
nejake papirovacky (neprijemne zkusenosti vypoustim z hlavy takze presne uz si nevzpominam), mam pocit ze to nebylo az tak narocne, pokud chcete pracovat na kampusu je treba zaridit SIN pokud jeste nemate

je nutnost mit ISEP pojisteni cca 800 dolaru na rok

ano ale ne na kampusu, ne v USA, jen jako vyvojar pro Evropskou firmu, jen to zminuji ze se to da stihat
