Activities before my departure abroad
What was your approach in organising the placement?:
Prvním krokem bylo zaslání přihlášky a motivačního dopisu fakultě. Na základě těchto dokumentů fakulta vybrala užší okruh zájemců, kteří byli pozváni k osobnímu pohovoru. Do 2 týdnů potom fakulta vybrala a nominovala dva studenty. Pak už je jen třeba čekat na vyjádření ze strany MZV a Stálé mise.

Training agreement, motivační dopis, potvrzení o svéprávnosti, potvrzení o bezúhonnosti, kopie občanského průkazu a další.. podrobný výčet zašle Stálá mise emailem

How far ahead did acceptance have to be organised? (in weeks):
Výběrové řízení na fakultě probíhalo v listopadu, konečné potvrzení ze Stále mise přišlo až v průběhu ledna.

What is necessary to arrange immediately on arrival? What requirements and at which offices?:
Po příjezdu je třeba podepsat na misi dohodu pro ministerstvo (připraví mise). Dále je také vhodné zařídit si kartičku na městskou dopravu. O vše ostatní se postará mise.

Describe your work/activity in the foreign organisation. Describe what specifically you did, whether the work corresponded to the agreed conditions and your field of study, and whether your work was independent and responsible, approximate working hours.:
účast na zasedání Rady OSN pro lidská práva, účast na setkání se zástupci států a mezinárodních organizací, sepisování reportů z jednání, příprava rezoluce, příprava diplomatických nót a další. Práce odpovídala domluveným podmínkám. Vždy jsem dostala výbornou zpětnou vazbu od vedoucích na misi.

Pronajala jsem si pokoj ve Ferney-Voltaire - francouzské město hned u hranice se Švýcarskem

Ubytování jsem si zajistila sama. Je dobré hledat minimálně 2 měsíce před příjezdem.

Equipment, internet connection, what to bring:
Většina ubytování nabízí to nejdůležitější - internet, pračku, žehličku, fén. Je dobré si přivézt/zakoupit adaptér do švýcarské zásuvky, ručník.

What are the rough costs of groceries (compare with Czech prices):
Doporučuji potraviny nakupovat ve Francii - tam jsou ceny jen o něco méně vyšší než u nás.

Tips for purchasing cheap tickets and other recommendations:
Letenku je vhodné zakoupit s co největším předstihem. Lety uprostřed týdne bývají zpravidla levnější než o víkendu.

What are the local transport options (public transport, cycling, on foot, rough prices):
MHD - vyplatí se zakoupit měsíční jízdenku. Ženeva je poměrně malá, dá se zvládnout i pěšky. Hodně studentů volí jako způsob dopravy kolo.
